Imphal, October 05 2013 :
Reiterating its stand to 'fully support' the issue on border fencing, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) has observed that it is unfortunate that the Government of Manipur seems to remain silent over the issue till date.
In a statement, General Secretary of MPTC Ngachonmi Ramshang said that MPTC was yhe first political party to take up the issue with the Prime Minister through All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).
However, till today, the Congress Governments, both in the State and the Centre choose to be indifferent towards this serious issue.
MPTC had urged the Chief Minister to invite all the political parties and to convene a meeting to a form a committee.
But till date, the Congress Government has remained completely silent, Ngachonmi lamented.
MPTC once again urged the Chief Minister to immediately intervene and take up the matter at the highest level to protect the land of Manipur.
The Government should also immediately call a special assembly session to discuss the issue, Ngachonmi demanded.
