Khangabok protests arrest

Thoubal, September 01 2012:
Protesting arrest of civilian by security forces, residents of Khangabok in Thoubal district imposed a lighting bandh today.
Residents imposed a bandh on the National highway-2 at Khangabok area from 9am today.
However, the same was lifted after a meeting between the Thoubal SP Dr AK Jhaljit and the peeved residents at 11am.Leishangthem Ibochouba of Khangabok Part-III was arrested by Imphal East commandos from his residence on August 31.Locals said he was running a printing press at Khangabok Lamlong to support his family.

Meanwhile, the locals have appealed the SP to release Ibochouba on humanitarian ground while stating that he is an innocent civilian.
