Lt Gen K Himalay Singh visits Sainik School Imphal

Lieutenant General K Himalay Singh, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, Commandant, the Infantry School visited Sainik School Imphal today.
On arrival, the General Officer was accorded a hearty welcome by the Principal, Capt (IN) Vinay Tiwari, Vice Principal, Sqn Ldr KV Sijomon, Administrative Officer Major Vivek Kumar, In-charge Senior Master O Dheinachandra Singh and School Captain Cadet Debabarta Laishram, informed a statement issued by the PIB(DW), Imphal.
An alumnus of Sainik School, Goalpara, Lieutenant General K Himalay Singh touched upon the importance of a sound character, and a thirst for continuous self- improvement and genuine ambitions in one's life.
Citing examples from his own life and that of his contemporaries, he emphasized on the inherent strength of the youngsters of Manipur that would ensure success for them in life.

In the interaction session that followed, cadets asked questions on varied subjects, which ranged from philosophy to his experiences in various military operations � which the General answered with compassion and enthusiasm.
At one point of time, taking note of the questions, the General, remarked that the young generation of today is indeed more intelligent, vis-a-vis his own school days.
On departing note, handing over a memento to Sainik School Imphal, Lieutenant General K Himalay Singh wished the cadets and staff of Sainik School Imphal a success and contentment in life.
