Advani bats for territorial integrity

Bharatiya Janata Party leader and chairman of the National Democratic Alliance Lal Krishna Advani has reportedly affirmed that Manipur's territorial integrity is always a concern for BJP and the party is committed to protect the same.
According to a BJP statement issued here, Advani made the assurance to a team of BJP Manipur Pradesh led by party's state unit president Th Chaoba Singh at New Delhi today.
Apart from meeting top brass of the party, including LK Advani at the national capital, the state unit delegation also had a s meeting with national spokesperson P Javedkar at his residence for nearly an hour during which the present political scenario of the state was highlighted.
After the meeting with the national spokesperson, Chaoba and his team met Advani at his residence at around 11 am wherein the latter reaffirmed that BJP is still committed on what the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had said in Nagaland that the Indo-Naga cease fire will not affect Manipur and neighbouring states.
The team also met Sushma Swaraj, leader of the Opposition (Lok Sabha) at her residence later in the evening, during which Swaraj also assured that BJP will not do anything detrimental to the interest of Manipur.
affirming that BJP will safeguard interest of the Manipur public, she also alleged misuse of DoNER Ministry, established by AB Vajpayee, by the UPA government.
"if the NDA comes to power in 2014 then all the facilities under DoNER ministry will reach all the nook and corner of the NE states," the statement quoted the Opposition leader as saying.
newly elected national BJP president Rajnath Singh interacting with the State team assured that a road map to bring peace and tranquillity in Manipur will be worked out at the earliest, besides pointing out that party's national leaders have been rising various issues of Manipur in both the house of Parliament from time to time.
The new national president also conveyed that he would heartily welcome all positive and constructive suggestions to solve any problem of the State.
Besides, Th Chaoba, BJP Manipur pradesh general secretary M Ashinikumar, former MLA Dr U Deben and executive member Y Khemchand were part of the State delegation.
