Imphal, January 25 2013:
Celebrating Eid-E-Miladun, the birth day of Prophet Muhammad at Imphal East District's Keikhu Muslim today, Pangal Political Forum (PPF), Manipur has called for peace and co-existence among the different groups of people living in Manipur.
The occasion also facilitated a discussion session on the "impractical" and "unattainable" demand for statehood from certain communities.
Addressing the gathering, Spokesperson of PPF M I Khan categorically stated that the Kuki's demand for a separate state in Manipur is unattainable and it would disturb peaceful co-existence among the various communities in Manipur.
Instead of it, we need to discuss other fruitful issues that would promote peace, harmony and prosperity in the State.
Reminding all the principles of universal brotherhood which was propagated by Prophet Muhammad, MI Khan observed that following such principles would help in building a new society where there is no enmity, violence and communal tension.
Advisor of PPF A R Khan (Retd.IAS), who attended the celebration as one of the presidium members, said that Islam expounds the doctrines of peace and harmony among the people.
However, some historians have distorted the image of Islam and branded it as something else.
This is the most unlucky part of all followers of Prophet Muhammad who believe on universal brotherhood and peaceful co-existence.
So, it is our duty to rectify the distorted image of Islam and made the world known about the principles of Prophet Muhammad.
He also said that the worth of celebrating Eid-E-Miladun would only be known after all the human beings understand and follow the ideals of Prophet Muhammad.
Seeking peace and harmony in Manipur, all the participants conducted a prayer session at the end of the celebration.
General Secretary, Jamialtul Ulama, Manipur Safiulla; Vice President of Madrassa Alia, Lilong Sajad Ahamad; Maulana Pesh Imam, Babupara, Abdul Jabir and other religious leaders, scholars and Muslim leaders were present on the occasion.
