Exclude four Chandel villages from new SDC Circle: Behring

Former MP and MLA BD Behring on Wednesday has demanded the State Government to immediate remove Mahao, Tonsen, Maru and Toupokpi villages of Chandel District from the proposed new SDC Sugnu Circle.
In a statement, BD Behring said the State Cabinet has approved to creation of Sugnu SDC Circle comprising of 11 Villages Mahao; Wangoo; Chairel; Nungou; Nungou Wapokpi; Tangjeng; Tonsen; Sugnu; Lokhi Maru; Toupokpi and Serou.
He stated that out of 11 villages, 4 villages namely Mahao and Tonsen villages which falls under Chandel Sub-Division while Lokhi Maru and Toupokpi which falls under Chakpikarong Sub-Division.
Behring pointed out that Mahao Village, is included under Chandel Sub-Division as per location code No 27076 (MODS), of 2011 census and Tonsen, included under Chandel Sub-Division as per Location Code No 270770 + 270771 of 2011 Census while Lokhimaru (Lokhijang), included under Chakpikarong Sub-Division as per 2011 census location code number 270846 and Toupokpi also falls under Chakpikarong Sub-Division as per Location Code No 270866 of 2011 Census.
The villages belonging to the Hill Districts and are habited villages according to 1981, 1991, 2001 and 2011 Census record.
He further pointed out that when it comes under Kakching Sub-Division of Thoubal District Mahao Village, location code as per 2011 Census is 270012; Tonsen Village location code No 270020 as per 2011 Census; Toupokpi Village, location code 270022 and Lokhimaru location code no 270021 as per 2011 census are not habited area according to 1981, 1991, 2001 and 2011 Census record.
The former MP also mentioned that the number of such instance of hill villages doubling with valley district are 12 in Chandel and Thoubal District, 12 villages between Senapati Districts with Lamsang Sub-Division, Imphal West and 5 villages between Churachandpur and Bishnupur District and in response to his representation submitted to the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, Government of India to rectify such doubling issue the Manipur Census Department had been intimated to rectify them, he said.
Behring further told that "It is unfortunate that the State Government continue to commit such mistakes despite knowing that it is wrong.
Why is it that they kept on committing such mistakes for future rectification? he questioning.
He has threatened to challenge in the court if the State Government failed to invoke their decisions, or removed the four villages in creation of new SDC circle.
