Modernise IMC : Lien Gangte

Former member of Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee (ZRUCC), Govt of India and political leader Lien Gangte has said that Imphal Municipal Corporation should be more modernised and should ensure efficient delivery system in order to develop Imphal into a Smart City.
Lien Gangte said that there should be adequate power and drinking water supply.
To make the City green, trees should be planted around the city areas and water bodies should be preserved.
More local products and brands should be promoted for better growth of economy.
Super highways, roads, bridges, drainages, culverts, etc should be constructed with world class infrastructure, he said.
International expo, cultural exchange, international book fairs should be enhanced to make Imphal a smarter city, Lien Gangte said.
Flyovers, foot bridges, underground foot tunnels should be developed and constructed.
The number low floor city bus should be increased and it should be used by all to ease traffic congestion.
Eco-tourism and medical tourism should be promoted.
Night life, clubs, night market should be introduced to make Manipur different from other NE States, Lien said.
More foreign exchange, foreign trades, international business and FDI should be encouraged for better economy.
Women empowerment, women safety, women entrepreneurs, women police pickets should be enhanced.
Saying that sanitation and cleanliness drive (Swachh Bharat) should be encouraged, Lien further said that transparency in governance through e-governance will make the city smarter.
