MDCs say no to inclusion of tribal villages in Sugnu SDC circle

MDC of 21-Toupokpi DCC, Dy Holngam, MDC of district headquarters DCC Tongsin Willingson and KSM Matthew Maring, MDC in a media briefing at Chandel today has urged the State Cabinet's to revoke its decision to include three tribal-inhabited villages under Chandel ADC in creating Sugnu SDC circle under Waikhong subdivision, Thoubal district immediately.
Speaking to media persons Dy Holngam said that the people of the village and himself cannot accept the Cabinet's decision to include Toupokpi village under Chakpikarong sub-division, Chandel in the proposed Sugnu SDC circle.
MDC of district headquarters DCC Tongsin Willingson while welcoming the opening of the new Sugnu SDC circle said the Cabinet has made a wrong decision in proposing to include the three tribal inhabited villages from three different DCC segments as they have remained under Chandel ADC for the past many years.
Demanding immediate revocation of the decision, KSM Matthew Maring, MDC in a statement warned of possible political unrest in the district if the State Government fails to revoke its decision, our correspondent reports.
