Chandel not satisfied with works

The People's Grievances & Reform Committee Chandel District (PGRCCD) has categorically stated that the people of the Chandel are not content with the pace at which different projects are being executed in the district under the Aspirational Districts Programme.
Speaking to media persons at Japhou Bazar today, PGRCCD secretary W Kohring continued that none of the projects being taken up to improve health, sports, school and market infrastructure in Chandel under the promising programme have been completed.
He also said that a memorandum had already been submitted to the State Government through Chandel Deputy Commissioner to check the manner in which the projects are being executed in the larger interest of the people.
Saying that the road stretch between Chandel and Sajik is being repaired by BRTF but nobody knows who supervises it as the condition of the road is 'very bad', Kohring continued that the construction of a guest house at Chakpikarong has also stopped.
Though the Government has pledged to supply clean water to every household by 2024 under the Jal Jeevan Project, the majority of the villages in Chandel don't have piped water facilities, he added.
Continuing that the Chakpikarong Community Health Centre is the only facility where a large number of people take health care services, he urged the State Government to give uninterrupted power supply to the CHC.
Further stating that none of projects being taken up to improve the road connectivity in the district under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Manipur State Rural Road Development Agency (MSRRDA) are completed, Kohring continued that the construction of the 15 km stretch from Wangparal Lamkhai to Litan along the Pallel-Chandel Road is still incomplete.
As per Kohring, the construction works of the 15 km road stretch should have been completed
by February 2021 .
"Another 15 km road stretch from Lambung to Phiral Khullen and the one from JNV Chandel Gate to Lamkang Khunthak should also have been made ready by 2021 but there is no progress in the construction at all with no workers at sight," he added.
He then urged the State Government to look into the matter and finish the projects.
Continuing that the Imar Market at Japhou Bazar which was inaugurated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh in 2019 has started developing cracks, Kohring urged the State Government to repair the market.
He further stated that the Kankhu Women Market constructed under NEC is yet to be inaugurated.
Maintaining that the constriction of GNM Nursing School at Chandel Christian Village is also incomplete while there is a lack of infrastructure at Chandel District Hospital which has been upgraded to 100 bedded hospital, he continued that the building of G+1 Tribal Boys Hostel under Tribal Development Department at Chakpikarong Higher Secondary has stopped in 2018 .
He also said that the conditions of District Sports Complex at Chandel Christian Village, Eklavya Model Residential School, FCI Godown at Liwa Khullen, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at Chakpikarong are not upto the mark and urged the State Government to do the needful.
