Take benefits from Govt schemes : Governor to people

Governor La Ganesan has appealed to all to take the benefit of various schemes being taken up by the Centre and the State Government.
The Governor made the statement during an interaction programme held at Thiyam Konjil Mamang Leikai Community Hall under Keirao Bitra Sub-Division, Imphal East today.
There, La Genesan said that the Centre and the State Government have been taking up a number of welfare schemes to uplift the living standard of the needy people.
He also stated that the Government has been striving to develop the country on every front by taking up developmental programmes in sectors such as housing, health, education and infrastructure under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Governor further stated that Jal Shakti Abhiyan was implemented to provide safe drinking water to every household in the country.
Stating that many welfare schemes have also been implemented in the State, he urged the people to apply for the schemes and capitalize on them.
Acknowledging the role of the Government in bringing down the rate of Covid infections in the State, the Government urged the people to take at least two doses of Covid vaccine to defeat the pandemic.
Reiterating the Centre's commitment to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) from India by 2025, the Governor asked the district administrations to conduct door to door surveys, identify TB patients and take up prompt actions.
Earlier, representatives of various civil society organizations raised their concerns on issues like road connectivity, power, health and education among others in the area and urged the Governor to do the needful.
La Ganesan assured the CSO representatives that he will ask the Chief Minister to take up all possible steps in the larger interest of the people.
Keirao AC MLA L Rameshwor Meetei, different Zilla Parishad Members, District Level Officers and Pradhans also attended the interaction programme.
The Governor was accorded a warm welcome by Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Khumanthem Diana Devi on his arrival at the venue.
