Seized urea were not stock allotted for the State: Th Biswajit

Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit has categorically stated that the recently seized truckloads of urea were in no way stock allotted for the State, but procured by some traders for their own business.
Th Biswajit made the statement during the inaugural ceremony of '3 Days Residential District Training Programme' organised by State Training Department, Bharatiya Janata Party Manipur Pradesh at Oinam Law College today.
Speaking as the chief guest of the event, Th Biswajit continued that as assured, the Government has started distribution of urea to the farmer community of the State.
In regards to change in the process of acquiring urea, the Minister said that officials concerned will have to visit the farmer's agricultural property before handing over their allotted share of urea as opposed to the earlier process of distributing urea after a farmer showed their 'patta'.

The Minister also criticized certain miscreants for spreading misinformation on social media about the Chief Minister's initiative to plant more trees.
He maintained that the Government had not encountered any cases of illegal logging in the hill areas of Manipur while adding that efforts are underway to apprehend those who are involved in illegal transportation of timber into the State.
On the importance of residential district training programmes, Th Biswajit urged the participants to absorb the information disseminated during the training to understand the core values of BJP, duties of a BJP worker, relation between BJP workers and MLAs and the public, etc.
The event was also attended by L Meenabanta, VP, BJP Manipur Pradesh in-charge State Training Department Bishnupur district; S Premchandra, Kumbi AC MLA; T Robindro, Thanga AC MLA; L Radhaskeshore, former MLA Thanga AC; and RK Bimola, president, BJP Bishnupur district among others.
As a part of the event, a photo gallery displaying important BJP leaders was launched and a booklet about the training programme was also released.
