Imphal, August 12 2015:
The recent August 1 landslide in Chandel District has made the entire villagers of Hollenjang Village into complete desertion since the villagers have been forced to take refuge at neighbouring Tolbung village for their survival.
Chief of Hollenjang Village, Letkholal Haokip said that the landslide had destroyed all the houses, properties including many agricultural lands and the 29 Assam Rifles outpost camp at the village.

Letkholal Haokip also expressed gratitude to the 29 Assam Rifles, who alerted and helped evicting the villagers in time, thereby preventing more human casualties.
The Hollenjang Chief, on behalf of the villagers, of Khengjoi Sub-Division in Chandel District has also appealed to the higher authorities to take up immediate measures and help the landslide affected villagers.
