Assam Rifles seizes brown sugar, arms & ammunition

Modi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (S) seized 140 gram brown sugar worth about Rs 28 lakh near New Wankhu, Tengnoupal District on July 27 .
Based on specific intelligence, troops of Assam Rifles launched a search operation in New Wankhu, said a statement of IGAR(S).
During the operation, 10 soap cases containing brown sugar were recovered from the side of the track.
The seized items were handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further action.
Moreover, Loktak Battalion in a joint operation with Bishnupur Police also recovered one Long Range Lathode (hand throw) with two Lathode shells and a Chinese Hand Grenade from Toronglaobi Bus Stand of Bishnupur district on July 26.The recovered items were handed over to Moirang Police Station for further investigation.
