World Vision India organises Ultra Poor Graduation ceremony

Imphal, July 27 2022:
World Vision India organised an Ultra Poor Graduation ceremony at Amity hall, Adimjati at Chingmeirong today.
Presenting the keynote address, Asosii Loli, Area Programme Manager, UPG Model, Imphal West district said that World Vision India aims to provide sustainable livelihood to selected extremely poor households through Ultra Poor Graduation (UPG) Model.
Asosii went on to state that under UPG model, selected beneficiaries will be monitored and guided for 18 months to help them graduate to aid in improving the economic and social status of their respective households.
As per the skillset of the selected beneficiaries, they have been provided aid through UPG model and are being declared competent in today's graduation ceremony, Asosii added.
Speaking as the chief guest, RK Taruni, Adhyaksha, Imphal West Zilla Parishad called on the beneficiaries of the model to help in raising awareness among the public about the benefits of the graduation programme so that maximum benefits can be availed.
Expressing gratitude for selecting Imphal West district for this particular programme, she maintained that if detailed survey by segmenting widows, elderly people with no children, differently abled persons and alike, the purpose of the policy can be well achieved.
A thorough survey is also needed for household services in the district, she added.
RK Taruni also emphasized on the need of taking up collaborative efforts and to organise more awareness and training programmes to actualise the objectives of various welfare schemes of the Government.
Associate Director, North East Zone, World Vision India, Marseibor Lyngdoh also attended the event as the presidium member.
