RBI urged to take action against banks in Moreh

Moreh, July 27 2022:
In connection with banks in Moreh allegedly refusing to accept cash deposit and notes of Rs 100 and Rs 200 denominations, Border Trade Chamber of Commerce, Moreh has reportedly lodged complaints to Reserve Bank of India demanding initiation of appropriate action against the bank officials.
After a team of Border Trade Chamber of Commerce inspected the banks here on Tuesday, its general secretary Surendra Singh Patheja submitted complaints to RBI general manager stating that banks in Moreh are not entertaining deposit of above Rs 1 lakh, as well as declining to accept Rs 100 and Rs 200 denominations and allowing only a day in a week for cash deposit.
