Imphal, July 27 2022:
Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has reportedly arrested four cadres of "merger group (NSCN-U)", who were found using the name of ZUF to carry out anti-social activities.
According to a ZUF release issued by its publicity secretary John Pame, the recently captured cadres of the merger group (NSCN-U) who are taking shelter in the name of ZUF has exposed sinister plans of the group to destroy the very fabric of Zeliangrong unity, political aspiration and determination.
With a handful of greedy leaders, the merger group has been misleading the innocent cadres with the intention of making money for themselves at the
expense of hard-earned historical rights, values and struggle for more than half a century.
The Front then said that the revelation by the captured cadres has proved that the merger group is "money hunter and not true revolutionary army" .
It further quoted one of the four captured cadres as revealing that the merger group led by Raitu Chawang and S Kamson has only 5-6 members and the group has failed in its policy and could not have any influence on the NSCN-U or NNPGs.
ZUF then cautioned "some Zeliangrong leaders whose names have been reported to refrain from making "personal gain or financial profit sharing with the privileged leaders by forfeiting our common interest and aspiration" while warning of consequences.
It asked the Zeliangrong people and their kindred tribes for greater support towards the cause of the
Zeliangrong political movement.
"As the progress of the political process is heading fast for final settlement, it is high time to consolidate our peoples' unity and solid stand for Zeliangrong political
settlement with the Government of India," ZUF added.
