The virus continues to kill with two more deaths reported in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deaths to 2128.Quoting the COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room today said that the two deceased persons were from Imphal East and Imphal West.
One of the deceased had co-morbidities and both of them had received the second dose of the vaccine, added the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Even as Manipur recorded two more deaths, 87 persons including one Central security personnel tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The positive status of the 87 persons were confirmed while testing a total of 1164 samples to peg the daily positivity rate at 7.5 percent.
Their positive status were confirmed while testing at RIMS (16), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (67).The 86 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (13), Imphal West (43), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (3), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (2), Noney (1), Churachandpur (8) and Chandel (3).The cumulative number of positive cases in the State now stands at 1,38,809 including 5017 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 615 including 3 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 78 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (63), RIMS (4), JNIMS (8) and SHRI (3).The recovery rate is 98.02 percent.
On July 26 a total of 7444 persons were vaccinated to take the total number of vaccinated people to 30,80,835 inclusive of 12,82,527 second dose and 1,87,731 precautionary dose.
The overall vaccination rate is 53.85 percent (second dose) and 62.17 percent (first dose).
At JNIMS out of the 38 Covid beds, 28 are occupied while at RIMS out of 62 Covid beds, 43 are occupied.
In a last 24 hours, a total of 80 D Type oxygen cylinders and 20 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
