CRPF units celebrate Raising Day, plant trees

Group Centre CRPF, Langjing, 86 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat and 69 Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri celebrated the 84th Raising Day of the paramilitary force at their respective units on Wednesday.
In a release, GC CRPF informed that the celebration was marked by Manipur & Nagaland Sector DIG Suresh Sharma, Group Centre DIGP Madan Kumar and all senior officers paying homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for the nation.
As part of the event, families of martyrs were felicitated and Atiutkarshta and Utkarishta Sewa medals handed over to the jawans, who received Atiutkarshta and Utkarishta Sewa.
Painting competition and volley ball matches were also organised to commemorate the day.

Later, DIG Madan Kumar distributed prizes to the winners of the competition and tournament.
On the other hand, 86 Bn CRPF informed that it celebrated the commemorative event at its Lamphelpat headquarters by paying homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives while performing their duties.
Speaking at the event, 86 Bn commandant Mohamand Yusuf recounted the glorious history of the force and highlighted the role of the Central Reserve Police Force in maintaining peace and harmony in the country.
He also congratulated everyone on the occasion of the 84th Raising Day of the force.
The battalion also organised a mega tree plantation drive in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to combat environmental issues from July 25 to 27 during which 6000 saplings were planted in areas nearby the headquarters as well as at various company locations such as Nungtek, Haochong, K Senam, Noney and Chil Chil.
The Raising Day celebration was held organised by 69 battalion CRPF at its Mantripukhri headquarters wherein Commandant Bajrang Lal along with the officers and jawans remembered the Martyrs and paid tribute at unit's Sahid Smarak.
Later, the unit distributed sweets to the children of Tabitha Orphan Home, Mantripukhri, Imphal and Poireinawakol Orphan Home, Achanbigei, Koirengei, Imphal.
