NBCC belittles BJP bid to suppress Congress

Bishnupur, April 01 2023: Stating that the recent conviction and disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha MP is an attempt to bring down Congress by the BJP, Nambol Block Congress Committee (NBCC) contended that BJP's agenda and campaign against the Congress party would remain futile.

Addressing media persons at its Nambol Chingmang office on Saturday, NBCC spokesperson H Arunjit said that the hasty conviction and removal of Rahul Gandhi is a clear example of suppressing the right to freedom of speech guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.

Though BJP has destroyed the parliamentary form of democracy in the country through such act, Congress will continue to fight for saving the democracy, he affirmed.

Speaking at the media briefing, NBCC president S Chandrakanta explained that the press briefing has been organised as part of the Jai Bharat Satyagraha to expose attempt by the BJP to destroy democracy.

The party will make all efforts to save the country and democracy for which we all need to come together as one, he added.
