AMMIK lifts ban on entertainment prog

Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has lifted the ban on conduct of musical concerts and entertainment programmes, which was imposed in view of the Class X and Class XII examinations, adding that programmes can now be organised from May 11 onwards.
In a release, AMMIK general secretary Mayengbam Dhananjoy urged organisers and music bands to be aware of the 'Do's and Don'ts' at venues, including ensuring the programmes end before 11pm.For religious events, the timing could be relaxed depending on the circumstances.
The general secretary also urged artistes to adhere to the guidelines of AMMIK and cooper ate with one another to ensure the programmes are held peacefully.
While advising singers to limit their performance to only three locations in a day, he maintained that AMMIK will not take any responsibility for problems arising due to over scheduling.
All musical groups affiliated to AMMIK should have thorough conversations with organisers regarding the guidelines, after which the booking could be done at AMMIK's office from 11am to 4 pm, in addition to inquiry about other details.
Musical enthusiasts and organisers should ensure the programmes/concerts are held without disturbance and do not affect the public, Dhananjoy urged.
