Imphal, May 10 2022:
The Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has alleged that the quality is not being maintained in the construction of science laboratory, library and computer laboratory at Saiton Government High School.
SSUM in a press release stated that the student body came across the situation when it conducted an inspection visit in the school.
In view of the construction being done without maintaining the quality and in the interest of the school, SSUM stated that it has imposed a ban on the construction work with immediate effect and urged the contractors and engineering cell responsible for the construction work to contact the student body at the earliest to discuss and provide clarity to the matter.
The student body also sought the attention of the Education Minister to look into the matter and take up appropriate actions accordingly in the interest of the students of the school which is an important school of the area.
Considering the inconveniences faced by the teachers of the school due to non completion of construction of teachers' quarters, the student body urged all concerned to ramp up the construction work and appealed to the Minister concerned and MLA of the area to probe the matter.
Further SSUM expressed gratitude to ZEO and the Director concerned for sending teachers to the school to ensure that there are adequate teachers in the school.
