Imphal, May 10 2022:
Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) has categorically stated that it will start taking actions against those schools which are not adhering to the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) .
KSA in a press release has expressed concern that some private schools like Little Flower School are prescribing additional books out of the syllabus and curriculum laid down by BOSEM which is unfortunate.
The student body maintained that the addition of more books has added burden to the students and parents particularly those of the poor and needy sections of the society.
In regards to the indifferent attitude and silence of the authorities concerned in this serious matter, KSA has raised questions whether such schools have more authority over BOSEM which has been given the rights to control and manage the affairs of the educational sector mainly from Class I to X .
Denouncing the incapability of BOSEM and authorities concerned to take stringent and timely actions against such schools, the student body maintained that it has empowered such schools to violate the norms and guidelines freely.
Considering the importance of the matter, KSA has resolved to take up actions against such schools and cautioned the respective schools that they will be held responsible for any untoward outcome.
