Sharda takes jibes at Erabot

Imphal, February 06 2022: BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda has called MLA Yumkham Erabot a political trader who has been scheming to mislead the youth.

Former MLA of Kumbi AC S Bira has joined BJP and a reception function was held in his honour at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh here today.

Speaking at the function, A Sharda remarked that some veteran politicians who are above 80 are contesting the election in the interest of their own families instead of teaching clean politics to youngsters and novices of electoral politics.

Y Erabot who is contesting the election in Wangkhei AC was earlier seen as a very clean and untainted politician, she said.

After BJP candidates for the 60 Assembly seats were announced recently, Erabot accused the BJP president of taking Rs 2 crore, booking new vehicle and building house like a palace.

Such a statement was highly condemnable, Sharda said.

Notably, MLA Y Erabot was among a couple of intending candidates who were seeking BJP ticket in Wangkhei.

However, BJP ticket for Wangkhei AC was granted to Okram Henry after snubbing Erabot who is the sitting BJP MLA of the particular Assembly segment.

The BJP Manipur Pradesh president decried that the particular statement of Erabot evoked a question among the youth whether there is a tradition in BJP and other political parties of selling party tickets at the time of elections.

It turns out that Erabot is not an ideal politician.

It has now come to light that Erabot is a political trader who has been scheming to mislead the youth, Sharda said.

Claiming that she has been working as a political activist for 27 years without taking a single penny from the party, Sharda asked the veteran politician not to make unfounded statements against her without any evidence.

She went on to advise the veteran politician to imitate S Bira who has sacrificed his own interest for the sake of youth and has pledged to support the young BJP candidate of Kumbi AC.

Speaking at the gathering, S Bira said that he would do everything in his capacity to ensure victory of the BJP candidate in Kumbi AC .
