Imphal, June 20 2014 :
After one Oinam Kabi of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai has filed an application to the Assembly Speaker seeking disqualification of MLA Kh Joykisan, Thangmeiband Block Trinamool Congress Committee general secretary Waikhom Nganglentomba has filed a written petition to the Speaker seeking Joykisan's disqualification.
Speaking to media persons at the Yaiskul office of AITC State unit today, Nganglentomba reminded that Joykisan was elected from Thangmeiband A/C to the State Assembly on AITC ticket.
However, after election, Joykisan has been working for his own interest which is a blatant betrayal of the electors' trust and faith, the general secretary alleged.
The application to disqualify Joykisan from being an MLA was filed in reaction to his declaration that he had snapped all ties with AITC, Nganglentomba said.
Apart from deceiving the electors, Joykisan has been disparaging the 10th Schedule.
AITC State unit president Th Shyamkumar while welcoming the entry of 15 persons in the Thangmeiband Block Trinamool Congress Committee, stated that block committees would be set up in all the remaining Assembly Constituencies.
Meanwhile N Pramo and Ksh Babita have been appointed president and vice-president of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Mahila Congress Committee respectively while Th Bishwanath has been appointed president of the youth front.
On the other hand, Thangmeiband Block Trinamool Congress Women's Forum has asserted that majority of the Thangmeiband Block Trinamool Congress executive members are INC workers.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the forum's publicity secretary Sundari Loitongbam said that B Gojen appointed by Th Shyamkumar as the president of Thangmeiband Block Committee is an executive member of the Thangmeiband Block Congress Committee whereas general secretary W Nganglentomba is a younger brother of Waikhom Jotin who contested the last Assembly election on Congress ticket in Thangmeiband A/C .
Most of the other executive members are also active Congress workers.
Questioning when the executive members of the Trinamool Congress Thangmeiband Block Committee resigned from INC, Sundari said that Shyamkumar hired some followers of Jotin and appointed them executive members with an ulterior motive to discredit Joykisan.
Women's front president M Shanti said that Oinam Kabi who wrote to the Speaker seeking Joykisan's disqualification is a relative of Waikhom Jotin.
