MSLSA officials interact with jail officials, inmates

Imphal, August 31 2022:
Members of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) interacted with officials and inmates of Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, MSLSA member secretary Ojesh Mutum highlighted the importance of legal representatives in criminal justice system in order to provide legal rights entitled to under-trial prisoners and convicts.
The team also provided a format for collection Of data to the inmates through the sector house commanders during the programme.
MSLSA additional member secretary Bineshwari Maibam, para legal volunteers of Jail Legal Aid Clinics and MSLSA project team members also attended the programme, which was participated by around 40 inmates.
Mention may be made here that there are 701 inmates in Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa, out of which 586 are under-trial prisoners and 115 are convicts.
