Assam Rifles remembers Lt Col Robert Kuba

Imphal, May 15 2021:
Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector/ IGAR (E) carried out a wreath laying ceremony and paid tributes on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Lt Col Robert Kuba, who laid down his life in an avalanche in North Sikkim sector on May 14, 2020 .
Informing that Robert Kuba was the first Army officer from the Maram Naga community, an Assam Rifles release said that he joined the Indian Army in year 2004 through Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and passed out from India Military Academy, Dehra-dun.
The 38 years old officer was an avid sportsman and adventurist.
The wreath was laid by commandant, battalion's second in-command and subedar major as well as father of Lt Col Robert at the new memorial constructed at the martyr's house.
The commandant and the first lady of the battalion also consoled Robert's family members and assured them of all possible help and assistance.
The officer left behind his wife and two daughters, parents and six siblings.
The event carried out with adherence to COVID protocol was also attended by village chairmen of the neighbouring villages.
