In addition, many volunteers have come forward to help the 60 patients admitted to the centre, he said, while adding that efforts are underway to increase the number of beds.
"The efforts of the doctors, nurses and volunteers towards the centre are immeasurable.
The volunteers are donning PPE suits and have taken over the responsibility of driving the ambulance themselves to transport patients with low oxygen levels from their homes to hospitals.
In addition to providing the necessary medical care by the doctors and nurses, the inmates at the centre are provided meals two times a day for free.
All of these are being done without the help of the government", Khemchand said and added that the centre is being operated successfully with the cooperation of the people.
Stating that it is time for the NGOs, CSOs and private individuals to do their part in the prevailing health crisis, the speaker urged the elected members of the state Assembly to utilise their respective LADFs to save lives of the people.
"The courage of Manipuri people is different.
It is time to show the country the strength of the state by making preparations ahead of the third wave.
