Govt announces incentives for health workers

Imphal, May 15 2021:
In accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued on May 3, Manipur government has announced incentives to be given to health workers who are directly fighting COVID-19 pandemic in the forefront.
An office memorandum in this regard has been issued by deputy director (health & family welfare) Soiminlian Lengen and it said that efforts are on to increase trained human resources capable of fighting COVID-19 in coordination with National Medical Commission and Indian Nursing Council in accordance with the ministry office memorandum issued on May 3 .
All health professional who completed 100 days duty will be handed Prime Minister's Distinguished Covid National Service Samman as per the ministry's office memorandum and this will apply to health professionals assigned by state government for Covid duty at both government and private health facility.
State government will also issue Appreciation Certificate in recognition of Covid duty.
The office memorandum also said that regular government doctors, nurses and health staff being utilised for Covid duty will be provided incentive fund in addition to salary/emolument and the same will also be provided to contract staff and daily wage staff utilised for Covid duty.
A doctor serving at Covid Ward will be provided Rs 15,000 per month which means Rs 500 per day and nurse serving at Covid ward will be given Rs 12,000 per month which comes to Rs 400 per day.
Doctors, nurses and other health staff including drivers will be given Rs 4,500 per month which comes to Rs 150 per day while drivers bringing oxygen to the state from outside will be given Rs 1,000 per trip and Rs 500 to handyman of such vehicle, the office memorandum added.
