Bishnupur CDOs recover suspected WY tablets

Bishnupur, August 09 2021:
A team of Bishnupur CDO-unit recovered large quantity of suspected WY (Meta Amphetamine) from a truck near Bishnupur Agriculture Office on August 7 around 1 pm.
According to a report, team of Bishnupur CDO Unit led by ASI Victor Haobijam assisted by ASI H Robash Singh and havildar Md IslamUddin under the command of OC/CDO and overall supervision of SP Bishnupur carried frisking and checking as part of preventive measures In connection with the upcoming Independence Day.
On receipt of specific input from reliable source regarding movement of contraband consignment, the team intensified frisking during which one Tata truck (WB65C-4786) was detained on suspicion.
On spot verification, the driver identified himself as Yangkhubam Hussain Ahmad (20), s/o Yangkhubam Nasir Ahmad of Kwakta Khuman Thongkhong in Bishnupur district.
On further checking of the driver and the vehicle, 27,800 pieces of tablets suspected to be WY were found concealed in between two layers of trampoline sheets covering the back of the truck.
The team recovered the suspected WY tablets and one mobile phone (Realme 8 5G) along with one Airtel SIM card and arrested the driver by observing formalities.
The arrested person along with the recovered items has handed over to Bishnupur PS OC and a regular case registered for further investigation, the report added.
