Imphal, July 29 2026: A day after consecutive incidents of alleged looting were reported along the Imphal�Ukhrul Highway, a similar incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon along Imphal�Senapati Road (National Highway-2) .

According to passengers travelling back to Senapati in a security-escorted convoy, several of their belongings were allegedly looted near the Damdei College Road at Gamgiphai along NH-2 under Sapermeina Police Station.

Sources said the incident occurred between 11.05 am and 11.20 am .

A group of volunteers enforcing the Kuki counter-economic blockade stopped the Senapati-bound convoy from Imphal and seized passengers' belongings despite the deployment of both State and Central security forces in the area.

Many of the victims were reportedly returning after attending the joint meeting of NPF legislators, office bearers, and party leaders held on Monday evening.

Victims alleged that the volunteers initially unloaded and seized their belongings, including rice, food items, fruits, dry fish, and other essential goods. After a few minutes, they were allowed to retrieve their belongings.

However, while they were collecting their items, some Kuki individuals shouted, "Bring back everything if it belongs to Senapati," they said.

As a result, several belongings of the passengers were snatched away again by the Kuki miscreants, they added.

The victims further said that some Kuki individuals deleted photographs and video footage from their mobile phones.

The repeated incidents of looting have triggered strong resentment among many Naga travellers.
