Imphal, August 09 2021:
Indo-Japan Friendship Association-observed Nagasaki Day virtually on Monday.
The observance presided over by president of the Association Phurailatpam Nandakumar was attended by its secretary irungbarii Mangal, joint secretary Saratchand Thiyam and other members.
Peace declaration addressed by Nagasaki mayor Taue Tomi-hisa was read during the programme and a two-minute silence observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls who died in the atomic bombing by US.
Saratchand Thiyam said that the observance is being held annually to spread the message of world peace and to stop war in the future.
