MMWO urges for completion of bailey bridge

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO), Santhel Branch has urged for completing the construction work on a bailey bridge at Santhel in Kakching district at the earliest.
In release, MMWO Santhel stated that the only bridge of Santhel is in very bad condition as it gets repeatedly snapped even after frequent repairing.
Though construction of a bailey bridge over Imphal river at Santhel to connect Sekmaijin and Maibam started under a sub-contractor named Iqbal from November 2021, the work has stopped for nine months now, it pointed put.
MMWO also mentioned that the said sub-contractor had assured of resuming the construction work but there is sign of same.
Considering the importance of the bridge for the people of Santhel, the organisation further appealed to the government to look into the matter seriously and complete the construction as soon as possible.
