Imphal, October 26 2022: Somsai Battalion of IGAR (S) distributed sports kits to Tangkhul Katamnao Long (Tangkhul Students Union), Imphal.

According to PRO IGAR (S), various sports items including footballs, volleyballs, and football and volleyball nets were distributed under Khelo India' initiative of the government of India to support the upcoming event and to encourage the sports oriented students of Tangkhul Land.

The noble gesture of the security forces to encourage sportsmanship was whole heartedly appreciated by the entire Tangkhul fraternity especially the students, the PRO said.

Meanwhile, Modi Battalion of IGAR (S) distributed essential items including books, sports equipment and stationeries to the children of Moltuk village at COB Moltuk in Chandel district on Tuesday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event was organised as part of Assam Rifles' initiative to foster growth and development of needy children of the nearby villages on the occasion of Diwali.

Interaction with children and school staff was carried out over refreshments and the event was attended by 50 children and five teachers of the school.

Guardians and school staff thanked the initiative taken up by the Battalion and requested to continue supporting them for the overall development of the children.
