Imphal, November 02 2021:
BJP intending candidate and former Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC MLA RK Anand has asked people of the constituency to remain alert from those who are intentionally instigating enmity and violence among people and not to elect candidate who would not be able to speak for the state or people of the AC in the assembly.
RK Anand made this appeal during an election related meet organised by Election Committee of RK Anand for booth level committees of 2/10 Kong-jeng Langpoklakpam Leikai Mamang and 2/11 Kongjeng Langpoklakpam Leikai Maning at Kongjeng Langpoklakpam Leikai community hall on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, RK Anand claimed that he had streamlined Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC into the right path of development when he was elected representative of the people of the constituency for 10 years in the past.
During that time, many infrastructure development projects were implemented and there was marked improvement in road & communication, drinking water provision and electricity.
Apart from this, every citizen of the constituency was given equal treatment and insular politics were ended to bring inclusive development, he said.
While further claiming that there was no election related violence while he was the MLA of the constituency, RK Anand termed as very unfortunate that one of the intending candidates tried to incite violence by intruding into his residential gate even as election is more than three months away.
He then appealed to people of the constituency to remain alert from candidates who are inciting violence while maintaining that intelligent, educated and patriotic people would never try to create violence.
Clarifying that he did not take any penny from the government while negotiating compensation for land owners affected by expansion of Imphal airport and the compensation amount was negotiated as per wishes of the affected land owners, RK Anand said that his veins contain no drop of blood to play cheap politics.
The meet was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh Kisan Morcha vice president and Imphal West in-charge Mutum Dinesh and top functionaries of BJP Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Mandal.
