NELC adopts Tawang Declaration

At the 10th anniversary of North East Leaders Connect (NELC) meet held at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, on October 31 and November 1, the core members adopted the Tawang Declaration.
In a release, NELC informed that the declaration highlighted the inherent potential particularly in the fields of tourism, organic agriculture, horticulture, food processing, handicrafts, music, sports and IT enabled services in the North East and to harness the region's abundant natural resources in a sustainable and scientific manner.
The release further said that NELC will bring together various young minds and leaders.
They will be provided a platform to network, be mentored and collaborate towards building a vibrant, dynamic and cohesive North East, it added.
The founding members of NELC included Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, Member of Manipur Legislative Assembly RK Imo, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma and-East Mojo founder and editor-in-chief Karma Paljor among others.
