Ukhrul records one Covid case out of 33 samples

Ukhrul district on Tuesday recorded one Covid positive case out of 33 samples tested at the district hospital's Screening Centre and in different localities.
This followed three positive cases on the previous day, November 1 .
The district recorded zero case for consecutive three days on October 29, 30 and 31 .
On Tuesday, only one case emerged from the Screening Centre of Ukhrul District Hospital (UDH) where 14 samples were tested, said a District Surveillance Office source.
Two samples were tested at Leishiphung Christian Hospital (LCH) but they returned negative, it said.
Another 20 samples were collected during contact tracing conducted at Naga Gate, Phungreitang, Hamleikhong and Kazipphung localities on the same day.
However, none of the samples returned positive.
The district's total active cases have dipped to 16 with the discharge of four patients from UDH isolation ward on Tuesday.
Of the total active cases, eight patients are being lodged at UDH isolation ward and three at Transit camp.
However, details about the five patients were not made available.
Meanwhile, the total cumulative positive cases in the district have reached 1855 of which 995 are male and 860 female.
The district has so far recorded 52 fatalities and has referred 28 cases out of the district hospital in the current second wave of the pandemic, the source said.
