Seven-day healers' conclave concludes

The seven-day healers' conclave organised by 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sect AR/ICAR (East) concluded on Thursday with a mobile Covid-19 vaccination drive held at Dikhuiram area of Tamei sub division with the support of Tamenglong District Health Society.
Apart from the vaccination drive, the battalion also organised Covid awareness campaign in the village during which various posters, banners, cut outs and information boards on Covid were displayed for the public.
A free medical check-up camp was also organised for the villagers where free medicine were distributed to the beneficiaries.
On the last day of the healers' conclave in Tamenglong, RIMS Department of Psychiatry HoD Dr RK Lenin virtually addressed the attendees and highlighted various social stigma and discrimination prevailing in the society with respect to psychiatry.
He also explained about the programme of drug de-addiction and psychiatric morbidity among student athletes of Manipur undertaken by his department.
During interactive session, he also spoke about issues related to mental health problems arising during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and stressed the need for early detection and diagnosis of disorders like depression and mental stress.
