Imphal, February 10 2022:
The 63rd CC Meet on Thursday saw 15 goals being scored across three matches as KRFC (Sagang), LYCC (Chandel) and SSU (Singjamei) carried the day.
KRFC started the day with a slender 2-1 win over WAFA (Wangoi) .
The Sangang squad had a strong start, firing in both their goals inside 12 minutes.
St Thangboi put KRFC ahead five minutes into the game and then Singte George doubled the advantage seven minutes later.
WAFA fought hard and managed to reduce the arrears in the 15th minute courtesy of W Tejkumar but that was as far as they could improve as KRFC held on to seal the victory.
LYCC, meanwhile, fought back from a goal down to run out 3-2 winners against KYVO (Bishnupur).
Goals eluded both sides for most of the first period until M Hemba Singh converted for KYVO in the 42nd minute.
LYCC got back on level terms when Nicky Tonsing Anal made his effort count in the 62nd minute, capitalising on a well-timed pass in a goalmouth melee.
10 minutes later, KYVO regained their lead through M Naresh Meitei only to be cancelled out by Chara Monagmpha Moyon's 76th-strike for LYCC.
After their second leveller, the Chandel side needed just two minutes to turn the tables on their opponents as Tesong Diamond Monsang made it 3-2 and his 78th-minute goal eventually proved to be decisive.
SSU wrapped up the day's fixtures with a dominant 5-2 victory over TRUGPU (Nambol).
The Singjamei side started off with a 10th-opener from A Nanao before L Roshan extended the lead in the 28th minute.
Then Mynam Arif upped the scoring ante in the 50th minute and Y Sushilkumar further stretched their lead after finding the back of the net in the 64th minute before TRUGPU scored their first goal in the 71th minute through Ng Rakesh.
Sushilkumar grabbed his second and SSU's fifth goal in the 81st minute as Rakesh found his and TRUGPU's second goal in vain in the 82nd minute.
