Imphal, February 10 2022:
The Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) has urged the people of Manipur to be cautious of the political parties which will create a roadblock in the administration of the State's affairs.
In a statement, CCSL secretary organisation, Laikhuram Jayenta said that the major factor threatening unity is the indulgence in narrow politics which is beneficial to only a group of people or a particular community.
Claiming that participation of certain civil society organisations in creating division among the people is rather unfortunate, he added that the election manifesto of some political parties incorporate an agenda which has the tendency to disintegrate the State and the same reveals on what ground these parties were established.
Jayenta further stated that one political party releasing its manifesto in the interest of a particular community and mentioning about the Manipur Land Revenue & Reform Act and the Constituencies in the valley districts contradict the very idea of unity.
"Manipur will sink as a society if we are trapped in the divide and rule policy and loathe each other," he cautioned and urged the people to teach a lesson to whomever is attempting to disintegrate the State.
"It would also be wise for all concerned to shun twisting the history of Manipur with a hidden agenda as the outcome of any threat to the State's integrity wouldn't be pleasing," he added.
Jayenta then urged the people of Manipur to be vigilant of the political parties which are trying to take over the State by giving false assurances.
