Imphal, February 10 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president Ch Chidananda has categorically stated that the saffron party doesn't consider the alliance of Congress and five Left parties as its opponent and also labelled the Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance (MPSA) as a hollow partnership.
He further stated that the five Left parties will sink along with the grand old party after the election.
Speaking to media persons at Nityaipat Chuthek today, Chidananda stated, "This alliance may be an election strategy for the Congress but to the BJP it indicates the incompetence of the grand old party" .
Claiming that the Congress has already surrendered to the BJP ahead of the election by sealing a pre poll pact with the Left parties which could not produce even a Ward Member, Chidananda reiterated that all the alliance partners of the Congress will also sink after the election.
The Congress administered the State with CPI from 2002 to 2012 by forming Secular Progressive Front (SPF), he continued and added that the CPI couldn't return to power after 2012 as they had been overwhelmed by the Congress during the period.
Maintaining that the BJP will contest the election on the plank of peace and development, Chidananda claimed that the saffron party has done more work in 5 years than what the Congress had done in 15 years.
He also said that the BJP will win over 40 seats in the ensuing Assembly election.
Saying that party key leaders such Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Works Minister Th Biswajit and Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Y Khemchand will contest election in the first phase, Chidananda confirmed that none of the BJP candidates will withdraw their candidature.
The Congress, on the other hand, has shown the distrust among them by taking a loyalty pledge of all its candidates, he said and added that this distrust will be the source of their (Congress) defeat.
