Seven stolen vehicles recovered, one arrested

Imphal, May 10 2022:
Seven stolen vehicles including two four-wheelers have been recovered from different places while one vehicle lifter identified as Makakmayum Abdul Hakim (34) son of Jahiruddin of Lilong Chingkham Makha Dam has been arrested.
According to police, a combined team of Imphal East district commando, Heingang police, Imphal East Narcotic Cell and Thoubal district commando conducted frisking and checking at Mantripukhri bazar on Monday on receipt of information about vehicle theft activities in the area.
The combined team initially detained Abdul Hakim, who came in a Maruti Suzuki Alto (Silky Silver/MN06 LA/9730, near Mantripukhri Durga Mandir for questioning as he was found in possession of seven spare keys.
During Spot interrogation, he reportedly disclosed that the vehicle was a stolen one besides revealing that another numberless Maruti Suzuki Alto (black) he has stolen was near the Lilong dam.
The second car was also recovered by the combined team and handed them over to Heingang police station along with the vehicle lifter.
In a similar drive, Thoubal district commandos raided the residence of one Ayaz Khan alias AAK (51), son of (L) Nazimuddin of Moijing Wangmataba Makha Leikai around 2.30 pm Tuesday and recovered one each numberless Swiss 125 (black) scooter, KTM RC bike (black with green panel) and Activa (grey) as well as one Honda Dio MN04B6725 (blue).
However, Ayaz Khan managed to escape.

Thoubal police station where a case has been registered, said the police release, adding that search is underway to nab the escaped accused.
