Imphal, August 06 2022:
Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) on Saturday condemned the act of locking the office of ATSUM here by a valley-based organisation, terming it as a motivated attempt to communalize tribal issues.
In a release, general secretary Yuimi Vashum informed that the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong takes serious note of the shocking conduct of the valley-based organisation, namely Meitei Leepun, where it has the audacity to lock the ATSUM office by taking the law into its own hand.
Terming the act as a motivated attempt to communalise tribal issue, Yuimi Vashum demanded befitting criminal action against the said organisation in accordance with law.
Further, the Saklong strongly condemns the atrocities meted out by the Manipur State Police on the tribal student community where over thirty (30) students in their uniform were injured during the peaceful rally that took place on Saturday at Imphal, Yuimi informed.
Stressing that Saklong regrets that democracy at the hands of the ruling dispensation is becoming a story of the past, Yuimi cautioned that the organisation will not be cowed down by such politics of threat and intimidation and vowed to intensify the agitation in the coming days.
