Flag hoisting ceremony for Letpao held

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi on Thursday hoisted the party flag for 42-Tengnoupal (ST) AC BJP candidate Letpao Haokip at the Election Office in Moreh.
Later, a meeting was organised at Moreh Galngam Lentoul (Public Ground).
Addressing the gathering, Letpao Haokip, who is also the minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, assured of ensuring entitled rights of the people Moreh, in addition to making it a drug free town and a huge business hub.
He then said that he is contesting the polls not just for his community but for all settling in Tengnoupal district.
While stating that he will suspend the officers of Water Supply department who failed to provide tap water connections to each household by 2022; the minister said that efforts will be made to punish the contractors who failed to complete work orders even after taking money from the government.
Contractors should be honest instead of making everything into a business-for-profit.
Observing the increasing number of brown sugar abusers in Moreh over the past 8-9 years, Letpao urged parents/guardians to closely monitor their wards.
"America, which is considered the most developed country in the world, is home to different races.
They do not do things meant for one community alone, but take into consideration all other communities when making and executing a decision.
Thus, the communities in Moreh should not blow-up petty fights between children or drunkards out of proportion, but instead help resolve the issues so as to maintain peace and harmony", he urged.
In her speech, A Sharda Devi said that the erstwhile Look East Policy of the Congress government was renamed as Act East Policy under the BJP government, after which Tangenoupal had easier access to road and transport, health and other facilities.
She then urged all to cast their votes in favour of Letpao Haokip for further development of the constituency.
The programme was also attended by BJP Manipur State general secretary K Bikram, ST Morcha president Mani Kamei, Chandel district Election Agent Th Hopson Chothe, ADC Chandel ex-member Chineiwa Haokip, and the presidents of Meetei Council Moreh, Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh, Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Tamil Sangam Moreh, All Community Development Organisation Moreh and Kuki Women Union & Human Right Moreh.
Later, gifts were exchanged with Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup Moreh.
