Workshop on narcotics laws held

Kakching, May 10 2022:
Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei organised a one-day workshop on 'Narcotic Law Enforcement' at Kakching Garden, Kakching Turel Wangma Uyok Ching Monday.
The workshop co-hosted by Kakching, Thoubal, Chandel and Tengnoupal SPs was at tended by ADGP (Training/Law and Order) Clay Khongsai, MPTC Pangei director RK Tutusana, IGP (Training) Mamata Wahengbam, MPTC Pangei assistant director Dr Ak Jha-lajit, IGP (Zone-I) Themthing Ngasangba and DIGP (Range-II) Ningshen Warngam.
ADGP Clay Khongsai said during the workshop that Tengnoupal, Chandel, Kakching and Thoubal districts have many cases of drug trafficking due their proximity to the Indo-Myanmar border and hence conducted the workshop to update the police personnel on narcotic law enforcement.
During the workshop NAB Manipur SP K Meghachandra talked on 'Important roles and duties of DLOs, magistrates, forest officers and police officers etc.
in the prevention and destruction of poppy cultivation in Manipur: The Practical Aspects' while NCB Sub Zonal Office Imphal SP Sureshkumar talked on 'Important aspects of search, seizure and arrest in ND and PS Cases' as resource persons.
MPTC Pangei assistant director A Ghanashyam also talked on 'Investigation of ND and PS cases, Dos and don'ts and checklist before submission of charge sheet' as another resource person while NAB Manipur investigators G Malangmei and Kimboi Vaiphei delivered a lecture on 'How to go about a successful ND and PS case: A case study' .
