Medical equipment, protective gears handed over

A handing-over programme of medical equipment and other protective gears to the district administration of Noney by a WhatsApp group known as Building Noney District under the initiative of Daichui Gangmei, president Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation Manipur (RNSOM), was held in the office chamber of deputy commissioner Rob ert Singh Kshetrimayum on Wednesday.
The medical equipment and protective gears worth Rs 3,22,120 were handed over to the Noney DC by Daichui Gangmei, president RNSOM, in the presence of volunteers.
The equipment included spot light, LED with stand, delivery set, otoscope, instrument sterilization/boiler, total droppler, ven-touse set with cuff, automatic BP machines, MVA syringes, disposable gown/aprons, Johnson Home Prob, non-reacting masks, etc.
Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, the dep uty commissioner appreciated the philanthropic activities carried out by the people of Noney district by contributing their mite and strength during this critical COVID pandemic.
''It is an inspiration to all of us who are rendering their valuable humanitarian services voluntarily and selflessly for the cause of the society," Robert Singh sajd, while seeking more such voluntarily activities and motivation in fighting the dreaded COVID-19 .
It is worth mentioning that during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, like-minded people of Noney district came together and created "Building Noney District" after seeing lack of medical equipment and other necessities in every health centre of Noney district.
The group managed to pool more than Rs 4 lakh from generous donors.
It had earlier handed over its donation for the first phase to the district administration for use by COVID warriors.
