Air monitoring unit inaugurated

Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Laishram Radhakishore inaugurated one Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station at SDO office complex at Sawombung, Imphal East, today.
At the event, Environmental Engineer Kh Premkanta stated that so far five Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations have been installed in different locations of Manipur under National Air Monitoring Programme of Central Pollution Control Board to collect environment data and formulate District Environment Action Plan.
Earlier, similar stations were installed at Bishnupur, Porompat, Churachandpur and Thoubal.
Above these, one station at Lamphel has been upgraded while two more stations are operating at Manipur University and Dhanamanjuri University in online mode, he added.
Kh Premkanta informed that altogether 12 stations will be installed in Manipur.
