Tamenglong, September 01 2021:
The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) has appealed to the State Government and concerned authority to ensure smooth operation of the bank without any hiccups in Tamei HQ.
A press release issued by LNKR stated that a bank in the vicinity is always equated with development for the area, ushering in blessings of every sort.
LNKR expressed its reservations over the purpose and use of a bank for the public when the functionality of the bank is stifled by various reasons such as irregularity of the staff, bank remaining closed even on working days, and other lackadaisical attitudes of the employees.
"The SBI Bank, Tamei Bank, is an oasis for the area consisting of over 40 villages in the Tamei Subdivision", it asserted while highlighting the issues faced by the villagers including delay in transaction as well as opening of accounts, which sometimes even take months.
LNKR said that the most affected people are the poor daily wage earners and the student community.
The students are facing untold miseries due to the inability to avail pre/post matriculation scholarships.
LNKR also appealed to the State Government to look into the matter "with meticulous scrutiny and make sure that the bank operates smoothly or without any hiccups, and make sure that the concerned employees are regular and pace up any work left on the table without any delay".
The student community further cautioned that it would be forced to take up "strict and legal actions against the bank if this request is not attended to" .
