PHE minister inspects water projects

With Covid-19 pandemic seriously hampering water supply project works, PHE minister Losii Dikho along with engineers rushed to work sites in Senapati town areas after the state-wide curfew was relaxed.
The minister visited different locations including near BSNL office, Zaikarii Colony, Afii Salaki, Makeng Chajingba, Namgailong, Katomei Eden Garden, District Hospital Senapati and Maralong colony.
He appreciated the concerns of chief minister N Biren Singh who has sought regular updates on the ongoing mega water supply project works around Senapati district headquarters where water scarcity during dry season is a serious and chronic problem.
Under CM N Biren's leadership, many projects in the district have been implemented in the last few years," the minister said.
"Despite the difficulty and delay due to the pandemic, the PHED is determined to complete the projects and deliver the promise to the people," said the minister, who has been frequently visiting the works sites.
He directed the PHED officials to speed up the ongoing works so as to avail water supply to all colonies and households as curfew is now relaxed and materials are in stock.
At Maralong colony, the minister met local leaders who requested for providing the water supply to 190 households.
Assuring of water supply to the people of Maralong, the minister also instructed the officials to start pipe line connection at the earliest.
Earlier, the minister inspected the construction site of a Residential School complex at Naga Taphou Village.
Expressing satisfaction over the work progress, Losii Dikho revealed that the work is being targeted for completion by December this year.
