Imphal, August 06 2022:
Three new Covid-19 related fatalities and 33 new positive cases were reported in the State during the last 24 hours.
The three fatalities were reported one each from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal to take the total number of fatalities to 2136.Out of the three deaths, two had comorbidities, one had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine and another one was already vaccinated with the precautionary dose.
As the 33 new cases were detected out of 493 samples tested at various testing centres, the positivity rate (TPR) stood at 6.7 percent.
The 33 cases were reported from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (8), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (1), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (3), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (4) .
With this, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,39,328 .
Today 51 persons were discharged after completion of surveillance including 44 from home isolation, two from RIMS, one from JNIMS and from from Shija Hospital.
The State currently has 276 active cases while the recovery rate stands at 98.27 percent.
6788 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered on August 5.The State has administered 31,29,521 doses of Covid-19 vaccine including 16,20,780 1st dose, 12,91,728 2nd doses and 2,17,013 precautionary doses putting the vaccination rate at 62.24 percent(lstdose)and54.11 percent (2nd dose) .
