Imphal, May 12 2014 :
A few Muslim civil organisations have blamed police for allegedly condoning criminals involved in the abduction of a young girl student.
The incident of abduction took place in the morning of May 6 at Mayang Imphal, Imphal West district.
The 16 year victim reading in Class XII (Science) at a Government higher secondary did not return after she went out to attend a tuition class.
She was found badly wounded at Shija Hospital on May 8 and is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Leaders of All Manipur Muslim Organisations Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) and the All Manipur Muslim Students Organisation visited the victim at the hospital today.
AMMSO president Md Farid Khan alleged that one Md Rajauddin alias Abocha (26) s/o Allauddin who is working in Territorial Army is the main accused in the abduction case.
The girl went to her school to attend a tuition class at around 5 am of May 6.But the girl did not return home the whole day subsequent upon which her father filed a complaint at Mayang Imphal police station next day.
Quoting the girl, Farid said that Rajauddin abducted the girl on a Yamaha FZ motorcycle from Mayang Imphal Bengoon Awapali as she was returning home after attending the tuition class.
She was then taken to Shija Hospital in a white Maruti van and left her there.
The girl's name was entered wrongly in the hospital's register and her address was given as Lilong.
In connection with the incident, police pulled up Rajauddin's father Allauddin but he was set free without doing any investigation.
Apart from booking all the accused involved in the abduction of the young girl, the Government should take up befitting action against the IO of the particular case and the OC of Mayang Imphal P/S, Farid demanded.
In case the demands are not translated into action at the earliest, AMMOCOC and AMMSO would be constrained to launch all sorts of intense agitation, he added.
